Jhomolhari Trek II

This trek follows the same trail as in Jhomolhari Trek – I till the base camp. Then, make loop turning east to Tshophu lakes across Bonthoe La Pass (4800m) to Yaktsha villages, further to Thongbu valley and join at Shana. This trek is the best alternative route to Jhomolhari Trek – I during the months of June/July/August, as the trail from Shodu to Barshong/Dodina, Thimphu is awful and can really spoil the trek during monsoon. Herds of blue sheep, yaks and many flowers can be seen along this trail, and infact this is the best trek to see the “Blue Poppy”.

Best season : End of March – mid June and end of September – November
